FlameCare VIP Maintenance Membership Terms & Conditions
These terms explain the services, benefits, pricing, and responsibilities included in Smucker Patio Living’s FlameCare VIP Maintenance Membership (“FlameCare” or “membership”).
1. Enrollment & Membership Term
Submitting the signup form does not activate your membership or require payment.
Smucker Patio Living will review your service address and equipment information, confirm availability and pricing, and provide these terms before enrollment. Your membership becomes active after we confirm enrollment and receive your annual payment.
Your membership lasts 12 months. Your confirmation will identify your membership start and end dates, service address, enrolled equipment, and total annual price.
Membership is paid annually. Monthly payments are not currently offered.
2. Annual Pricing & Service Area
Pricing for one gas log set or fireplace is based on one-way driving distance from our store at 15540 Wells Highway, Seneca, SC 29678.
Annual membership costs $299 for homes within 5 miles, $325 for homes more than 5 miles and up to 10 miles away, $350 for homes more than 10 miles and up to 15 miles away, and $375 for homes more than 15 miles and up to 20 miles away.
Smucker confirms the applicable distance and total price before enrollment. Any applicable taxes or separately agreed charges will be disclosed before payment.
Service beyond 20 miles is subject to availability and a written quote.
These prices include travel for the annual cleaning and inspection appointment. Any travel charge for additional service visits will be disclosed before that work is scheduled. Separately stated travel charges are not included in the service-call labor discount.
3. Additional Fireplaces
The primary membership includes one annual cleaning and inspection for one gas log set or fireplace.
Each additional enrolled gas log set or fireplace at the same home may receive an annual cleaning and inspection for 50% of the primary membership price.
For example, a $350 primary membership plus one additional appliance would total $525 annually.
Additional appliances must be identified in the enrollment confirmation and serviced during the same appointment to receive this pricing. Separate appointments require a separate quote.
4. Included Annual Cleaning & Inspection
Each enrolled appliance receives one cleaning and inspection during the 12-month membership term.
Our service team follows the manufacturer’s instructions for the specific equipment. Work varies by appliance type, condition, accessibility, and manufacturer requirements.
Where applicable, the annual visit includes:
Preparation and inspection
Preparing the equipment for service and allowing it to cool.
Checking for foreign materials, debris, and visible installation concerns.
Inspecting accessible gas connections, piping, shutoff valves, and control components.
Checking inlet gas pressure against manufacturer specifications.
Inspecting logs, burner components, pilot assemblies, and associated tubing.
Reviewing log placement and clearance around pilot and sensor openings.
Cleaning and routine care
Cleaning gas logs, the pilot assembly, and burner openings using appropriate methods.
Removing accumulated dust, soot, and debris from the firebox as appropriate.
Cleaning fireplace glass where applicable.
Refreshing glowing embers and lava rock where appropriate and permitted by the manufacturer.
Replacing remote and switch batteries as needed.
Operation and final review
Checking ignition, pilot operation, flame characteristics, available operating settings, and shutdown.
Rechecking log placement and unobstructed pilot and sensor openings.
Looking for unusual odors, sounds, soot, or operation.
Recording service findings and explaining recommended additional work.
This service does not include repairs, replacement components other than the routine materials expressly included above, installation corrections, chimney sweeping, or a comprehensive inspection of concealed gas piping, chimney systems, or building components.
An inspection reflects conditions accessible and observable at the time of service. It does not certify that the entire appliance, installation, or home is free of defects or future problems.
5. Member Discounts
During an active, paid membership, members receive:
10% off replacement parts.
10% off a new gas log set.
50% off service-call labor fees.
Discounts apply to eligible purchases and service supplied by Smucker Patio Living for the enrolled equipment or its replacement at the enrolled address.
The gas log set discount applies to the equipment purchase. It does not automatically include delivery, installation, modifications, or disposal.
Discounts are calculated from Smucker’s standard prices and do not apply to taxes, separately stated travel charges, prior purchases, or prior services. Discounts cannot be combined with another promotion unless Smucker agrees in writing.
Additional work and its price will be explained for customer approval before proceeding. Membership does not make repairs or replacement equipment free.
6. Priority Scheduling
Active members receive scheduling priority over nonmember service requests.
Member service appointments are typically available within 2–4 days. This is an anticipated scheduling window, not a guaranteed response time. Availability may be affected by demand, operating hours, weather, access, staffing, and parts availability.
An appointment within this timeframe does not guarantee that repairs can be completed during that visit.
FlameCare is not an emergency response service. A suspected gas leak or carbon-monoxide concern requires immediate attention through the appropriate emergency service or gas utility; do not wait for a membership appointment.
7. Equipment Eligibility & Existing Problems
Membership is available for gas logs and gas fireplaces of any brand or condition, subject to service availability and the ability to work on the equipment safely.
Equipment does not have to have been purchased from Smucker.
Customers must disclose known operating problems, damage, modifications, or access restrictions when signing up.
Acceptance into the program does not mean an appliance is safe to operate, repairable, or supported by available replacement parts. Existing problems and installation defects are not corrected free of charge.
If unsafe conditions are identified, Smucker may stop work, recommend that the equipment remain out of use, and explain the corrective work needed. Additional work requires customer approval.
8. Scheduling & Customer Responsibilities
Smucker will coordinate the included annual visit after enrollment and payment.
Customers agree to:
Provide accurate contact, address, and equipment information.
Respond to reasonable scheduling communications.
Provide safe, clear access to the appliance and relevant controls.
Arrange for an adult authorized to approve service to be present unless another arrangement is agreed.
Keep children and pets clear of the work area.
Notify Smucker promptly if an appointment needs to be changed.
Follow manufacturer instructions and any service recommendations.
Unless we advise otherwise, the appliance should be turned off and allowed to cool before the appointment.
Membership includes one annual appointment per enrolled appliance, not unlimited cleaning visits. Unused appointments have no cash value and do not automatically roll into another term.
If Smucker cannot provide the included service within the term because of its own scheduling limitations, we will arrange an extension or an appropriate refund. Customer-caused scheduling delays will be handled individually.
9. Payment & Additional Charges
The annual membership fee is due before membership benefits begin.
Smucker will email an invoice for secure online payment. Customers should not send card numbers or bank details through the website signup form or ordinary email.
Repairs, additional visits, replacement parts, and other services outside the included annual appointment are billed separately, with applicable member discounts.
No additional work or undisclosed fee will be charged without customer approval.
10. Renewal
Before your membership expires, Smucker will contact you with the proposed renewal price and terms.
For the current program, renewal requires payment of a new annual invoice. Your card or bank account will not be automatically charged solely because you previously enrolled.
You may decline renewal by contacting us or choosing not to pay the renewal invoice. Benefits end when the paid membership term expires.
Any future automatic-payment option will require separate disclosure and your express authorization before automatic charges begin.
Renewal pricing and benefits may change, but changes will be disclosed before you renew. Your current paid term will not be changed without your agreement.
11. Cancellation & Refunds
You may request cancellation by email or phone using the contact information below.
Before the included service is performed and before any member discount is used: You may cancel for a full refund.
After the included service is performed or a member discount is used: The membership is generally nonrefundable for the current term. You may decline future renewal.
If Smucker cannot provide the agreed service: We will offer an appropriate refund for the undelivered portion of the membership.
Any refund or cancellation right required by applicable law will be honored.
Smucker will confirm cancellation and explain any applicable refund. Canceling a membership does not cancel charges for separately approved work already performed.
12. Existing First-Year Coverage
Gas logs and fireplaces installed by Smucker include first-year parts-and-labor coverage under the applicable installation terms.
FlameCare is a separate maintenance membership. It does not replace, shorten, or expand existing manufacturer warranties or Smucker’s installation coverage.
Customers with first-year coverage should contact Smucker to confirm when their FlameCare membership should begin.
13. Address Changes & Transfers
Membership applies to the enrolled equipment at the confirmed service address.
Contact Smucker before transferring membership to another owner, address, or appliance. Transfers require approval and may require a price adjustment based on location or equipment.
14. Service Limitations
FlameCare is a maintenance and discount program. It is not insurance, a home warranty, or a promise that equipment will never fail.
Routine maintenance may identify concerns, but it cannot prevent every breakdown or guarantee uninterrupted operation, a particular lifespan, or a specific reduction in fuel use.
Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be limited or excuses Smucker from responsibility imposed by applicable law.
